31-year-old British artist, photographer, director and model Nadya Lee Cohen has created a highly controversial spring/summer 2024 advertising campaign for Italian clothing, perfume and accessories brand Dsquared2. According to Culted, she showed off a new collection of models portraying porn actors.
Dsquared2, run by Dean and Dan Caten, is no stranger to the world of adult films: it has a long history of provocative campaigns, and its SS24 show is a full-blown porn shoot. Lee Cohen, on the other hand, has been explaining sexuality through the camera for a while.
For the campaign, which includes images and videos, Dsquared2 and Lee Cohen chose legendary Bosnian-Serbian model Natasha Vojnovic, along with actor and model Tony Ward, known for his role in White Hustler. The film touches on themes of homoeroticism and hustler culture in 1980s Los Angeles.
In Dsquared2’s latest ad campaign, Voinovich, dressed as a porn star, sips a drink before being called to the set and sits on a chair while waiting for the lights to be fixed. Styled by Hayley Wallens, Natasha can be seen in the latest season’s new products, including the iconic pearl bra, along with other styles offered.
The work involved careful use of lighting crews and random dogs that happened to run onto the set; which further helped convey the true chaos behind any given shot.
“Located beyond the hills of Hollywood, the San Fernando Valley was home to a thriving porn industry in the 1990s. Authenticity was key: Just as we would in an adult film, we deliberately gave the actors their lines only on the morning of shooting. It’s set in the ’90s. ” to.
