Singer Taisiya Povaliy, who sided with the Russian Federation in the war with Ukraine, announced that she was a “Soviet Ukrainian”. The artist said this in an interview with the Russian news portal Popcake.tv.
In a meeting with Russian journalists, Povaliy stated that he wants to record a new album with songs in both Russian and Ukrainian. And he considers the release of such a collection of songs to be his mission.
“I really want to release a Ukrainian-Russian album. There will be songs in both Ukrainian and Russian,” Povaliy said.
Adding that he considered himself a “Russian Ukrainian”, Povaliy explained that after some thought he even defined himself as a “Soviet-Russian Ukrainian”.
“I am a Russian Ukrainian. I am a Soviet-Russian Ukrainian,” the singer said.
