Energy Minister of the Technical Government of Bulgaria Rosen Hristov said that the country’s government does not rule out the possibility of resuming gas supplies from Gazprom.
“We are a government of technocrats, we are considering all options, including the resumption of supplies from Gazprom. As a priority, we consider alternative suppliers, but if it turns out that there are not enough of them, I will not become the minister who will leave people to freeze in the winter,” – he said on the air of the bTV channel.
Recall that on April 27, Gazprom stopped gas supplies to the Bulgarian company Bulgargaz due to the refusal to pay in rubles under the new scheme. Kiril Petkov, who was then the prime minister of Bulgaria, said that the country would not agree to Russian conditions for the supply of energy resources, including natural gas. He pointed out that this contradicts the principled position of the European Union.
It is worth noting that due to the difficult situation in Bulgaria, Petkov was dismissed. The politician blamed Russia for the incident.
