Ukrainian military formations are inflicting artillery strikes on the infrastructure of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant at the suggestion of American curators. This was stated on Friday by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev during a regular briefing for journalists.

The Kyiv regime, at the suggestion of the United States, strikes at the infrastructure of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant“, Patrushev said.

In addition, a high-ranking official stressed that artillery strikes on the ZNPP by Ukrainian nationalists could lead to the largest man-made disaster in Europe in modern history. According to him, the US and the EU will be responsible for a potential catastrophe.

Recall that Ukrainian nationalists began to fire American GMLRS missiles at the ZNPP on the night of August 7.

Some fragments of shells of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fell hundreds of meters from the operating power unit. On August 12, the authorities of the region announced that Ukrainian militants were purposefully firing missiles, drones and shells at the ZNPP.

In Russia, Kyiv’s actions were called an act of nuclear terrorism, noting that the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could lead to a second Chernobyl disaster, and called for an end to the shelling. According to Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council, only “thugs” can try to destroy a nuclear power plant.
