Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin discussed with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia Alexander Vulin a special operation to protect Donbass and the aggravation of the situation in northern Kosovo. This was told in the Russian defense department.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed issues of cooperation between states in the military and military-technical sphere, as well as exchanged views on topical regional problems.

During the meeting, Vulin stressed that Serbia is now the only country in Europe that has not imposed sanctions on Russia.

Recall that on July 30, Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovich said that the Albanian side was “preparing hell” in Kosovo and Metohija. The next day, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the people, in which he stated that the police of the unrecognized Republic of Kosovo would begin an operation in the north of the region on the night of July 31 to August 1. The Serbian leader also appealed to the world community to influence the “authorities” of Kosovo. He insisted on a peaceful settlement of the situation.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses reported that an air raid siren went off in the region, and they also blocked the Brnyak checkpoint. The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the decision of the unrecognized Kosovo to ban entry on Serbian documents is a provocation of the Serbs and a violation of their rights.

Later, the “authorities” of the unrecognized republic postponed the procedure for imposing a ban on Serbian documents until September 1. However, the Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, made a video message in which he accused Vucic of provocation.

In response to this, Serbia emphasized that Aleksandar Vucic insisted on a peaceful solution to the issue, which in no way could be a provocation from the Serbian side.
