The rocket will launch the spacecraft into near-Earth orbit, after which Progress will begin its independent flight to the ISS.
The spacecraft will make 34 orbits and dock to the station on October 28 at 5:50 Moscow time.
In total, Progress will stay in space for about eight months.
On board the truck are 2.5 tons of cargo – fuel for the station, water, nitrogen to maintain the atmosphere on the ISS, new clothes, food for astronauts, fresh food.
Progress will also deliver to the station equipment for conducting experiments to study the work of various human organs in space.
Earlier it was reported that the Crew Dragon ship, carrying Russian cosmonaut Anna Kikina, docked with the International Space Station.
