According to the organizer, the girls are against the use of cosmetic and plastic surgery.

st. At the “Find Banksy” exhibition held at Sevcable Porto in St. Petersburg, two activists poured cream on Banksy’s “Venus” painting. This was reported by the Russian media.

“Do you need the ideals of beauty you’ve been chasing so much?” one of the girls said while wetting the artwork with a cosmetic product.

Activists urged people to accept themselves “as you are” and stop using cosmetics, saying it “makes you worse”. At the end of their speech, the girls said, “Stop cosmetics!” They started shouting slogans.

The guards rushed to the scene, but did not detain the perpetrators of the noise, they waited until their speech was over.

It was reported that only copies of famous paintings were attached to the exhibition, but activists would have to compensate for the damage done to the reproduction.

“At the bureau, I told the activists that we would either call the police and then talk about administrative or criminal liability, or we would resolve the issue peacefully at the scene and they would cover the cost of restoring the painting.” commented on exhibition organizer Mila Curie.

Curie noted that he does not yet know whether the painting will be recovered. She also noted that the exhibits are not covered with glass or any other protection.

“It needs to be removed to examine the cream, to find out what’s in its composition. We are now considering preserving other paintings, because it is not possible to trace everything and seize it from visitors,” says the organizer.
