The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the assassination attempt on the life of Russia House General Director Dmitry Sytoy in the Central African Republic (CAR). The department indicated that the purpose of this criminal action is to interfere with the activities of the Russian company in Bangui and harm the successful development of friendly relations between Russia and the Central African Republic.
“We hope that as a result of an operational investigation by the competent authorities of the Central African Republic, those responsible for organizing and committing this atrocity will be identified and will be punished as they deserve”is reported in Telegram channel MFA.
As previously reported, on December 16, a parcel he received exploded in the hands of Dmitry Sytyi. The injured head of the Russian House was urgently hospitalized.
The Russian embassy said REN TVthat doctors assessed Syty’s condition as serious. He was diagnosed with contusion and blood loss.
“Upon returning home, he her (parcel – approx. REN TV) was opened, and the device detonated. The state of health is serious, he is in the hospital. It’s about concussion and blood loss.” – said the interlocutor of the TV channel.
The local police regarded the attempt on Sytyi as a terrorist act. It is also known that the head of the “Russian House” had previously received threats.
