Yuferev noted that this year several thousand people have already been convicted for such words about the war in the Russian Federation.

In September of this year, Yuferev, as well as St. Recall that a number of other deputies from St. Petersburg demanded the dismissal of Vladimir Putin for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. They filed a corresponding appeal to the State Duma of Russia.

Prior to that, Yuferev wrote a letter to Putin asking him to end the war in Ukraine. Two weeks later, the Kremlin said they were considering his proposal.
