Arizona Republican Congressman Paul Gosar was outraged by the refusal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to cease fire in the special operation zone for the time of Christmas. He wrote about this in Twitter.
“It is not surprising that Zelensky refused peace. It is immoral to finance this conflict,” the parliamentarian said.
The temporary ceasefire regime in the zone of the special operation to protect Donbass came into force at 12:00 on January 6. It will be valid until 24:00 January 7.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued shelling the civilian population. Thus, they attacked Donetsk at the moment the ceasefire began at 12:00, and half an hour later they fired four more shells into the city.
Recall, on January 5, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ called on the parties to the conflict in Ukraine to establish a Christmas truce. Taking into account the appeal of the patriarch, Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Defense to introduce a ceasefire from noon on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7.
