The head of the department of social services and health of the Swiss canton of Lucerne, Guido Graf, was called a “racist” because of his words about refugees from Ukraine. The publication announced this Luzerner Zeitung.
Graf previously spoke to the Blick newspaper. The official noted that some Ukrainians seeking housing in Europe are “more demanding” than refugees from other countries. At the same time, not the poorest people arrive from Ukraine in the first place.
“The population is very dissatisfied with the fact that refugees drive SUVs and at the same time receive social assistance. Other groups of refugees also do not understand why they cannot have a car, while Ukrainians can”Graf noted.
After that, the Swiss official was called a racist and accused of spreading “negative generalizations” about Ukrainian refugees. And Cantonal MP Urban Frei added that such statements allegedly threaten the solidarity of the inhabitants of Switzerland and Ukrainians.
Recall that earlier Polish women said they regretted helping the Ukrainians.
