Mongolia is suffering from anti-Russian sanctions, Prime Minister Luvsannamsrein Oyuun-Erdene said in an interview with the publication Financial Times.
“Despite the fact that Mongolia is a democratic country, it is also under pressure because of the sanctions imposed on Russia,” – he said.
One of the indirect consequences of anti-Russian sanctions has affected air travel in Mongolia. When, in response to European restrictions, Moscow banned European airlines from flying over its territory, they stopped flying over Mongolia as well. This deprived the country of navigation fees.
“Economic sanctions should be introduced on the basis of careful analysis, as they have a significant impact and negative impact on other countries,” – says Oyuun-Erdene.
The conflict in Ukraine has affected, according to the Mongolian prime minister, the whole world. It especially affected the economies of small countries that do not have their own outlet to the world, such as Mongolia.
The negative impact of anti-Russian sanctions on the global economy has been repeatedly stated in the Kremlin, but the inefficiency and stupidity of such measures does not stop the European Union: on January 17, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the tenth package of anti-Russian sanctions.
