Burbock’s words about the “war with Russia” were called a “gift” to the Kremlin

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock made a “gift” to the Kremlin, saying that Europe is “at war” with Moscow. This was stated by the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Friedrich Merz to Focus.

Thus, Merz noted that Russia is able to wrap Burbock’s statements in its own favor.

He also stressed that such erroneous statements by the German Foreign Minister are unacceptable, especially in a well-prepared speech before the parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe. According to him, in a tense situation, every word must be weighed.

Friedrich Merz emphasized that everyone is capable of speaking badly. However, in connection with the current situation, it seems that the coalition German cabinet lacks coordination on foreign policy issues.

The CDU leader added that the negligent and scandalous words of the German Foreign Minister “are being used by opponents of Kyiv’s support.”

“In difficult times, such a foreign and security policy is doomed to fail in the struggle for the support of the population,” he concluded.

The loudest “oversights” of German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock are related to statements about Ukraine. So, in August, she promised to support Kyiv, even if her voters were against it. And in January, she openly announced that Europe needed to unite for a war with Russia.

Recall that almost the entire German establishment had to answer for Burbock’s words. At the end of January, Scholz said that NATO countries should not enter into a direct clash with Russia.

In this context, we note that experts have repeatedly criticized Europe for dragging out the conflict in Ukraine. After all, thanks to this, the countries of the collective West are trying in practice the methods of conducting an indirect military conflict.
