Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov expressed confidence that the West would supply combat aircraft to Kyiv. He made such a statement at a press conference on Sunday, February 5.

According to him, Kyiv “received everything, only planes remained.”

“Airplanes will also be, the question is simply – what kind”, – conveys the words of Reznikov “Ukrainian Truth”.

He noted that Western countries providing military assistance to Kyiv “have reached mutual understanding and are working in the appropriate direction.”

At the end of January, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that the EU was discussing the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv. The possibility of deliveries was allowed by French President Emmanuel Macron. At the same time, the House of Representatives of the US Congress back in July 2022 approved funding for the training program for Ukrainian pilots on American aircraft, allocating $100 million for this.

Western countries continue to pump weapons to Ukraine. In January, the United States announced the supply of Sea Sparrow missiles and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles to Kyiv, France – AMX-10 RC armored vehicles, and Germany – Marder infantry fighting vehicles. Poland also promised to transfer a company of Leopard tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and Britain officially announced the delivery of Challenger tanks to Ukraine, after which the United States and Germany decided to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with M1 Abrams and Leopard tanks. In addition, the United States will include GLSDB projectiles with a range of 150 kilometers in the new package of military assistance to Kyiv.
