Law enforcement in Norway to interrogate ex-commander of PMC “Wagner”, who fled from Russia to Norway

Former Wagnerite Andrei Medvedev, who fled to Norway after the fighting in Bakhmut, is ready to testify to the police.

In Norway, they will interrogate a “Wagnerian” who has fled from Russia to Norway, who has expressed his readiness to testify about the Russian Federation’s crimes in Ukraine. Reported by Reurters.

Norwegian police said they plan to question Andrei Medvedev, the former commander of the Wagner PMC mercenary group, who fled Russia to Norway last month after participating in the fighting in Ukraine.

Law enforcement officials reported that the former Wagnerian volunteered to bring soldiers from Wagner PMC, who committed war crimes in Ukraine, to justice. It has already handed over some digital materials to law enforcement.

Police also noted that, apart from illegal border crossing, nothing was suspected of the former commander of Wagner PMC.

“Medvedev gives the impression that he wants to talk more about his experience at Wagner PMC,” the police said.

In mid-December, Andrei Medvedev said that he was aware of ten cases of execution of “mercenaries” from the PMC “Wagner” for refusing to fight.

On February 3, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported the suspicion to the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin. He is accused of violating the territorial integrity and immunity of Ukraine and waging a war of aggression – Part 3 of Art. 110, Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Last week, the Russian Armed Forces made progress in its attempt to encircle Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, according to the American Institute for War Studies (ISW). PMC “Wagner” units captured the highway connecting Bakhmut with Seversk.
