Innocent driver died early Thursday morning in a crash an accident that occurred during a police pursuit of two armed robbery suspects in the Northridge area.and in Los Angeles, authorities said.
The pursuit began shortly after 00:30 when Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers found a van they were looking for in connection with an armed robbery that took place this Wednesday..
police officers they attempted to stop traffic on White Oak Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard, but the suspicious driver did not stop the van.prompting a chase, an LAPD spokesman said.
The suspects tried to leave with the truck on Roscoe Boulevard, heading west. when they ran a red light and collided with another vehicle traveling south on Lindley Avenue..
Because of the collision the driver of the second car died at the scene of the accident.
The suspected driver was apprehended, while his partner in an SUV managed to escape on foot and is currently on the run.
Authorities seized a loaded rifle that was found inside the pickup truck. in which the alleged thieves traveled.
