“This is a flagrant violation of numerous UN Security Council resolutions,” said White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson.

Although the United States Indo-Pacific Command determined that this launch did not pose an “imminent threat” to US or allied personnel or territoryfrom Washington considered that this “unnecessarily increases tension and risks destabilizing the security situation in the region.”

According to the spokesman, this only shows that the DPRK (North Korea’s official name) “continues to prioritize its illegal weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs over the welfare of its people.”

Therefore, the United States called on the international community to condemn what had happened and asked North Korea to stop its “destabilizing actions” and start a “serious dialogue.”

Watson stressed that the US National Security Team is in close coordination with its partners and allies and that The United States will “take all necessary measures” to ensure its own safety and that of its allies, in direct reference to Japan and South Korea.

North Korea carried out a record number of missile launches in 2022, and this latest comes after more than a month and a half of no weapons testing, a period of no North Korean activity in the area that has not been seen for a long time. .
