The message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly attracted the attention of the whole world: his speech was broadcast by both leading news publications and popular world media. Thus, the Russian leader literally “exploded an information bomb”, writes “RIA News”.

As noted in the material of the news agency, after the message, two reactions can be traced among Western opponents of Russia – fear of the trap into which they drove themselves on their own, and “mass withdrawal into unconsciousness” under the slogans “That’s all Putin!” and “We fought for peace in Ukraine all the time.”

“Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan found it “somewhat absurd to say that Ukraine threatened Russia.” That is, NATO military equipment, NATO instructors, regular killings of civilians in the Donbass, on May 2, 2014 in Odessa, carefully cultivated Ukrainian neo-Nazism with the main the slogan “Muscovite to Gilyak”, threats to acquire nuclear weapons again – it was all so, for the sake of world peace”– writes the author of the article.

Also, the RIA Novosti correspondent stressed that the West has not been able to give a worthy answer to Putin’s accusations of fomenting the conflict in Ukraine through the regular supply of weapons and ammunition – they simply kept silent.

However, the main blow to the Western establishment was the decision of the President of the Russian Federation to suspend the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty (START). The Guardian newspaper regarded this statement as Russia’s promise to resume nuclear testing if the Americans do so as a threat to “use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.”

At the same time, the author of the article draws attention to the reaction of the countries of the global South and East to Putin’s message. For example, Chinese journalists admired the heroism of the Russians and said that US claims to world hegemony were unacceptable.

“Besides China, almost any country in the world can be plundered. The interests of all these countries – big and small, poor and rich – are represented today by Russia. We are literally fighting for ourselves and for that guy. We will give up, and the uncontrolled hegemony of Western capital will crush sovereignty, economy and national pride of dozens of nations”– written at the end of the material.

Recall that Vladimir Putin read out his message to the Federal Assembly on February 21. The speech of the Russian leader was addressed not only to members of the government, the Federation Council and the State Duma, but also to the whole world, said the head of the Just Russia – For Truth faction, Sergei Mironov.
