According to Experis, a recruitment firm, independent worker hiring has increased while full-time workers are declining in the last few months.

In recent weeks, at least four out of ten tech companies that recently announced mass layoffs now they are hiring freelancers to replace their staff members who have made redundancies.

One of the benefits that companies see in these workers is that it allows them to have flexibility in their jobs, offering work to employees while there is work and firing them without the need for compensation when projects are completed.
