In early April, Russia will hold an informal meeting of the UN Security Council on the topic of children evacuated from the conflict zone in Ukraine. The corresponding statement was made by Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
According to him, since the start of the special operation, more than 4.5 million people have been evacuated to Russia, of which 690,000 are children.
“The vast majority of evacuated children arrived in Russia accompanied by their parents, guardians and trustees. In this regard, numerous speculations about the arrival of a huge number of unaccompanied children in our country are puzzling.“, – quotes Nebenzya TASS.
The diplomat stressed that Russia strictly observes international law regarding children.
Earlier, Nebenzya called hypocrisy and double standards the refusal of the Security Council of the world organization to give a speech to the Ombudsman of the DPR Darya Morozova.
The UN Security Council did not allow Morozova to speak at a meeting on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
Nebenzya said that Moscow regrets that the UN Security Council did not approve the speech at the meeting of the DPR Ombudsman.
