Student in Canada arrested after stabbing two employees at school

Halifax Regional Police in Canada arrested a student after two workers from Charles P. Allen High School. were attacked on the very first day after the March break.

According to local media, police received a gun complaint around 9:20 am at a Bedford area high school.

“The officers who arrived at the scene promptly detained a young man who studies at school.”, the authorities said.

Two victims and a student were taken to hospital for medical treatment, the extent of their injuries is not yet clear. The Halifax Regional Police confirmed that the suspect is a student at the school.

The school, which had about 1,700 students in grades 10-12, was closed until the end of the day.

At a press conference, Lindsey Bunin, a spokeswoman for the Halifax Regional Education Center, called the situation traumatic.

“We are deeply saddened and shocked by this situation, and our heartfelt sympathies go out to students and staff, especially, and their families at this very difficult time,” he said.

Bunin confirmed that two employees were stabbed and stated that the student allegedly involved was also wounded.

“Everything was very fast and immediate, therefore, as soon as it became known that a violent incident was taking place, an announcement was made, which was confirmed and secured, that is, students must remain in their classes,” Bunin said.

Classes were announced to resume on Tuesdaywhile child psychologists, school social workers and school counselors will be available over the next few days to speak with students individually and in groups.
