Political scientist: Erdogan remembered drones to avoid US provocations

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan posted a photo of a Bayraktar Kizilelma jet drone on social media to respond to US actions. This opinion in conversation with REN TV Andrey Koshkin, head of the department of political analysis and socio-psychological processes of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, spoke.

He recalled that earlier Washington had lifted the arms embargo on Cyprus. And Turkey could not but respond to this provocation.

According to the expert, the jet-powered fighter drone that Erdogan showed was announced back in November. These devices have great features. They take off from the runway and develop high speed thanks to their engine. Drones will work in conjunction with fighter jets.

“This direction is now actively developing in all countries of the world. We also have the same drones, they are called “Hunter”. They are practicing methods of pairing with the latest generation Su-57 fighter. Such a jet drone works in pair with it. So, I think that it’s all about the independent foreign policy line pursued by Erdogan”Koshkin noted.

Thus, Erdogan, pursuing a policy of distancing from Washington and Brussels, reminded the whole world of how powerful devices Turkey has at its disposal. This will help the republic avoid further provocations from the West.
