On March 29, Washington, along with Zambia, Costa Rica, the Netherlands and South Korea, officially launched the second “Summit for Democracy” for 120 countries. The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stressed that the Russian Federation regrets that UN Secretary General António Guterres took part in this “unworthy performance”.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov noted that the “Summit for Democracy” can hardly be classified as any significant event. According to him, the United States, claiming to be the “world teacher”, will engage in moralizing there. Peskov also called the event an attempt to divide the world into states of the first and second grades.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that the United States invited those who are loyal to the American Democratic Party to participate in the “Summit for Democracy”.
And Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev expressed confidence that at the event the United States, as the main dictator of the world, would mock other countries, once again calling himself the main defender of international law.
Earlier it was reported that Armenia also did not support the item on Ukraine at the “Summit for Democracy”.
