The Nord Stream gas pipelines were attacked on September 26, 2022. Germany, Denmark and Sweden admitted that there was a deliberate sabotage. At the same time, Russia was not allowed to participate in the investigation for a long time. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that what happened is an act of international terrorism, in which the Anglo-Saxons are involved.
In February 2023, American journalist Seymour Hersh published an article in which he described the investigation into the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. In his material, the journalist indicated that the sabotage was carried out by the US intelligence services. After Hersh’s publication, the West launched a disinformation campaign, blaming a certain pro-Ukrainian group for the attack.
On March 24, the Danish Ministry of Defense announced the discovery of an unidentified cylindrical object near the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Copenhagen promised to raise the object from the bottom together with the pipeline operator. The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov has already responded to the discovery. He stressed that Russia is positive about the decision of Denmark to invite Nord Stream 2 AG to take part in the operation to retrieve the item.
On March 27, the UN Security Council rejected a Russian resolution condemning the Nord Stream terrorist attack and calling for the creation of an international commission to investigate it.
