The US administration plans to conduct joint maneuvers in the South China Sea with the Philippines and other partners in 2023. This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

“We have discussed plans for joint maritime exercises later this year with like-minded partners in the South China Sea,” reports TASS Austin’s words.

According to him, the exercises are planned to be held during the strengthening “collective deterrence capacity”.

Before that, it became known that the US State Department approved a deal for the sale of 18 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, which Morocco might acquire. In addition to the MLRS, the African country will purchase related equipment for $524 million.
