“The ceiling began to fall on us”: family in the USA managed to survive the devastating hurricane (video)

Jake Hill talked about how he and his family managed to survive after a hurricane swept through their home. The man realized that only three walls remained of the building around the bathroom where they were hiding.

Jacob Hill, 20, was at work, ignoring his mother’s panic calls as a 138-mile-per-hour hurricane sprinted towards his hometown of Spencer, Indiana, USA. Isnider explains this.

Adam and his family are familiar firsthand with the destructive power of the angry elements. Hurricanes occurred frequently in their area.

“You always hear tornadoes coming here, but you never think it could happen to you,” Hill told Insider.

At the end of last month, the Hill family was able to feel all the destructive power of the elements. On the night of March 31, 10 tornadoes swept through Indiana, part of multiple hurricanes that hit the Midwest and South, killing at least 32 people and injuring several more.

Hill had just finished the night shift that night and was on his way home. The publication states that he did not suspect that the man would later get ahead of the hurricane and arrive at his front door just minutes before demolition begins. When the American arrived at his home, he noticed that nearby power lines were glowing, casting the street into darkness. According to him, a transformer exploded nearby, and the continued wind picked up dangerous speed, forcing him to quickly run into the house.

The next few minutes were blurry, according to Hill. He remembers the whistling of the wind getting louder. The man heard one of his relatives shouting to everyone to go to the bathroom. Hill, her mother, brother, grandmother, grandfather, godmother, and dog Rigsby, thinking they might be hiding there, rushed into the small room.

“We always talked about hiding there, since we didn’t have a basement,” the American added.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there is no completely safe place to hide during a hurricane due to flying debris. But the agency said some locations are more convenient than others, including basements, hallways, closets, and other windowless areas on low floors.

The demolition began a few minutes after everyone entered the “shelter”.

“The drywall ceiling started to fall on us. I heard the windows shatter. I felt the drywall fall and I started breathing the dust,” says Hill.

When it was all over, the man lay on the ground in the chaos, not knowing if he had passed out. He said he wasn’t exactly sure how long the ordeal lasted, but family members later said the hurricane had passed in about 45 seconds.

The man immediately checked with his family that everything was fine. The publication states that none of his six relatives were injured. The family had to leave the bathroom by removing the wall that blocked the entrance to the room. According to Hill, only three solid walls remained in the entire house, which belonged to the bathroom they had decided to hide in. The storm has destroyed the house and there is little left to salvage.

“We had no roof. We were on fire. It was emotional. It was very scary. Because the storm was still going on, we had nowhere to go, no one to call.”

The Hill family now lives with their friends, hoping to eventually restore their home that has been theirs for almost 100 years.

Previously Focus He wrote that a hurricane in the United States destroyed a vintage Chevrolet Corvette collection. All cars were severely damaged and some are beyond repair.

It was also reported that a strong hurricane hit the United States. According to journalists, there are not enough ambulances in local hospitals to evacuate all the victims.
