The Netherlands will accept another 47.5 thousand refugees from Ukraine in 2023. The corresponding forecast is contained in a letter from the State Secretary of the Ministry of Security and Justice, Eric van der Burg. The letter was sent on 14 April to the national parliament.

It is reported that in 2022 the kingdom received 88,000 Ukrainians. As long as the fighting continues, the Netherlands does not expect many people to want to return to their homeland. In this regard, “the Cabinet of Ministers believes that by the end of the year there will be more than 135,000 Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands,” van der Burg said.

The Dutch authorities predict an increase in the number of refugees from other states. It is likely that the Netherlands will have to take in about 67 thousand more foreigners, in a worse scenario – 76 thousand people.

It is noted that experts are concerned about this state of affairs. Already, the relevant agency is struggling to accommodate refugees, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service is struggling to process their documents.

Earlier it was reported that mass protests began in Germany due to the huge flow of refugees from Ukraine.

According to Le Figaro, Germans are concerned about the threat to their security and a possible shortage of housing. Since the beginning of the special operation, a million Ukrainians have already arrived in the country, and now another 300,000 asylum seekers have been added to it.
