Russians advised not to visit Canada

Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ottawa recommended Russians not to visit Canada and refuse banking transactions in Canadian currency.

“Due to numerous cases of discrimination against Russian citizens based on ethnicity and citizenship in Canada, including physical violence, we recommend that you refrain from traveling to this country”– specified on the embassy portal.

And those Russians who are already in Canada, the diplomatic mission urged “to be vigilant, especially in public places.”

Also in this country, the risks of arrest of any financial transactions carried out in the Canadian national currency, but with the participation of Russian banking institutions, have become more frequent. Therefore, diplomats recommended “completely abandon” the conduct of such operations.

Recall that on April 11, the Ottawa authorities expanded anti-Russian sanctions. The new restrictions affected 14 individuals and 34 legal entities.
