Yavelin Fernandez, mother of a three-year-old girl, got drunk and did not see her daughter, who was by the pool, start to drown.
An eyewitness saved a little girl from drowning in a pool at the Florida Keys resort in Florida, USA. While the boy was at the party, he was left unattended by the mother. Reported by Yahoo News.
The sheriff’s office said police officers who arrived at Gilbert’s Resort in Key Largo arrested Yavelyn Fernandez, 28, the mother of a three-year-old girl, after they found her drunk elsewhere on the property.
Guests and resort staff could not find the girl’s mother at first. It turned out that he was intoxicated when he was found around 6 pm.
Police said security footage of the resort showed a girl and a 5-year-old boy alone by the pool. Sheriff’s office spokesman Adam Linhardt said one of the resort’s guests pulled a drowning girl out of the pool. The boy was not wearing any life-saving equipment.
“Fernandez was belligerent and shouted at MPs,” Leenhardt said.
