At the same time, the Polish prime minister noted that they would not recall the ambassador yet, as it did not make sense.
Poland plans to continue returning the Russian embassy buildings in the country under its control. This was expressed by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, writes Dziennik.pl on May 15.
He remembered that recently one of the buildings of the Russian embassy in Warsaw had passed under state control.
And we will continue to work, he added.
At the same time, Morawiecki explained why the option to recall the ambassador doesn’t seem plausible yet.
“It is very easy to recall the ambassador. And then the Russians recall our ambassador. And in such a situation, the level of mutual information transfer in both directions becomes more difficult,” said Morawiecki.
He reminded that ambassadors of various NATO and EU member states continue to be in Russia, although the level of relations has dropped significantly.
“Of course we have lowered the level of these diplomatic relations, we are filled with anger at Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and we express it by our actions,” the head of the Polish government said.
On May 10, it was learned that the Polish prosecutor’s office seized approximately $ 1.2 million from the bank accounts of the Russian embassy and trade mission in Poland.
On 12 May, the Polish Senate unanimously adopted a resolution on Ukraine’s NATO membership. The decision must be taken under the emergency procedure, as in the case of Finland.
