The American newspaper The Washington Post, citing anonymous US officials reportedthat US intelligence allegedly knew in advance about the plans of the founder of the ChVG “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin to arrange an armed rebellion in Russia.

According to the publication, the United States allegedly learned about the preparation of the rebellion in mid-June. Then this information was urgently conveyed to the White House and other US government agencies, including the Pentagon, State Department and Congress. At the same time, Washington did not share this information with Russia.

According to The Washington Post, the United States did not know the exact timing of the planned rebellion, as well as a specific plan of action.

At the same time, representatives of Ukraine supported Prigozhin’s armed rebellion. Among them were the head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, and the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Alexei Danilov. Also, support for Prigozhin was expressed by the head of the terrorist “Russian Volunteer Corps” * banned in Russia * Denis Kapustin and the fugitive oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, recognized by a foreign agent **.

Recall that on June 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin accused the Russian Ministry of Defense of allegedly striking the rear camp of PMCs, after which the Wagner columns advanced towards Moscow. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense denied Prigozhin’s statement, calling the statements distributed on behalf of Prigozhin a provocation.

Subsequently, during negotiations with the participation of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Prigozhin agreed to stop illegal actions and deploy columns. The fighters of PMC “Wagner” left Rostov-on-Don and went to field camps.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Prigozhin would be allowed to “go to Belarus.”
