Poland intends to strengthen the already powerful border with Belarus in connection with the arrival of Wagner PMC fighters on the territory of the republic. This was announced on Wednesday, June 28, by Polish President Andrzej Duda.

Earlier it was reported that the politician arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.

“This is the external border of the EU, and we are defending it well. Of course, if there is a need, it will be strengthened,” he said in an interview with reporters, answering a question whether he was afraid of the Wagner group after its redeployment.

Duda also noted that physical and electronic barriers operate on most of the border. And the most powerful fortification is in the area of the Suwalki corridor.

“This section is under special protection not only from the Polish and Lithuanian sides, but also from NATO”Duda said.
