“Prigozhin has gone crazy over huge sums of money,” Dmitry Kisilev, one of the leading figures in the Kremlin media apparatus, said on his weekly show.

Kisilev added that Prigozhin “thought he could stand up to the Russian Defense Ministry, the state, and the president himself at the same time.”

The facilitator stated, without providing evidence, that Wagner received 858 billion rubles ($9.6 billion) of public money.

For Kisilev, “one of the main factors” in the Wagner group’s coup is the refusal of the Russian Defense Ministry to renew contracts signed with Concord food company, which is also owned by Prigozhin.

The uprising of the fighters of the Wagner group on June 23 shook the authorities in Russia, went over to a full offensive in Ukraine.

For several hours, Wagner’s troops occupied the barracks of the Russian army in the city of Rostov and advanced hundreds of kilometers towards the capital of Moscow.
