Biden justified the supply of cluster munitions to Kyiv by the lack of conventional

Due to the fact that Ukraine ran out of conventional shells, the United States supplied Kyiv with cluster shells. This was stated by US President Joe Biden in an interview with CNN.

“They have them (Ukrainians. – Approx. REN TV) ran out, and we don’t have much of them either. Therefore, I accepted the recommendation of the Ministry of Defense to transfer – not as a permanent measure, but for a transitional period – such projectiles until we produce more 155 mm ammunition.Biden said.

He added that the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine may depend on the amount of ammunition. Biden also clarified that this decision was difficult for him.

Earlier, John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said that Washington had not yet made a decision on the supply of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
