The incident in question occurred because a 14-year-old boy was accused of whistling a white woman. and his mother in Mississippi.

According to CNN, A White House spokesman, speaking on condition of anonymity, explained that the country’s president would sign a decree establishing a National Monument to Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley. at three sites in Illinois and Mississippi.

And this Tuesday marks another anniversary of the birth of Emmett Till in 1941.

In this sense, the monument’s purpose is to protect sites considered key to the life and death story of the victim whose white killers were acquitted.an action that provoked the activity of Till’s mother.

Actually, at one time and at the insistence of an African American, her son’s coffin was opened to show the world what they did to Emmett Tillwhich was also circulated by Jet magazine through the publication of several photographs of the boy’s mutilated body.

Such actions helped fuel the Civil Rights Movement. enjoyed by African American citizens today.

Here, Monuments to Emmett Till are expected to be erected in three different locations.

The first will be located at the Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ in Chicago. It was there that the young man’s mother held his funeral with an open coffin.

At Graball Landing, in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi, where Till’s body is believed to have been pulled from the Tallahatchie River, a second memorial will be located.

And the third will be installed in Tallahatchie County Second Circuit Court in Sumner, Mississippi.where the killers of an African American were acquitted,

before being assassinated in August 1955. Emmett Till was visiting relatives in Mississippi. and then pointing him out for disrespecting a white woman who was traveling in the company of her mother he was kidnapped, severely beaten and even shot by Roy Bryant and J. W. Milam, two white men. who were found acquitted by a jury of the charges against them.
