The United States in the Asia-Pacific region (APR) has deployed the largest grouping of 400,000 troops, and also deployed about a thousand aircraft and 130 ships. Such data was given during a speech at the Moscow Conference on International Security by the head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov.

He stressed that this is being done to push through Washington’s interests in the Asia-Pacific region.

“The United States has deployed the largest grouping in the region, which has 400,000 troops, up to 1,000 combat aircraft, 130 ships,” – said Kostyukov, specifying that eight submarines with ballistic missiles and six aircraft carriers are involved among the ships.

According to him, this is 60 percent of the total number of US forces in the advanced theaters of war. In Europe, in turn, the States deployed only 100,000 troops.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called unacceptable negative scenarios in the Asia-Pacific region, which were previously staged by NATO and the United States in other parts of the world. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that NATO’s plans to open an office in Tokyo testify to the alliance’s intentions to gain a foothold in the Asia-Pacific region (APR).
