“I have decided that I am immortal”: after Prigogine’s death, “Wagnerites” talk about whether there will be a revolt

Russian journalists spoke with the fighters and veterans of the Wagner PMC. Probably the subordinates of the deceased Yevgeny Prigozhin admit that they were waiting for the murder.

On August 23, a plane crashed in Russia, as a result of a plane crash, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Wagner PMC, probably died. Meduza journalists described the event with mercenaries.

“Wagnerian”, who recently returned from the war on the territory of Ukraine, said that the commanders of the PMC plan to record a call to the fighters.

“Because there was someone who panicked and prayed. We’re all a little crazy now. And there are people who are very angry: They want revenge. They want revenge because the president doesn’t forgive these things,” he said.

An unnamed Wagner veteran who is currently fighting in Ukraine also sees Prigozhin’s assassination as punishment for attempting a military rebellion. He emphasized that the plane crash occurred exactly two months after the “walk”.

The Russian invader said, “We were expecting this. The only question was when.”

Also, PMC fighters and veterans admitted that a radical response to the incident should hardly be expected. They explain this by the slightly changing situation in the group since June.

“Now, if this incident had happened on June 27, right after the march, yes, there would have been a reaction. Now… Someone is on vacation, someone is starting their own life, someone has already left the Ministry of Defense.” Said “Wagnerian” who received a service offer in Africa.

An unnamed veteran suggested that Prigozhin’s death will be discussed on social networks for two weeks, after which the news will be forgotten.

One of the mercenaries said, “Actually, I’m in the hospital right now. I haven’t received any salary or insurance so far. I can’t reach anyone either, the phones have just been turned off.”

Media sources no longer believe that Prigozhin staged his own death. Moreover, the president’s security service has been criticized for frivolity.

A former subordinate of the founder of the PMC said that after the attempted military mutiny, Vladimir Putin “screamed” at the group’s commanders for three hours. The source suggested that the businessman then decided to flee in simple anger because he was not killed immediately.

The interlocutor of the publication said, “He saw himself as untouchable. He decided that he was immortal.”

Regarding the future fate of the Russian PMC, its representatives have no faith in the best. According to them, the company has no future, no matter who will run the “Wagnerites” anymore.

One of the mercenaries said that the former director of Wagner, Andrey Troshev, is now forming his own detachment for the Ministry of Defense. According to the source, Putin offered the fighters to serve under his leadership after the rebellion. But the proposal only caused laughter, because Troshev was known for his addiction to alcohol.

“Troshev kept himself all over the place only because of the auspices of the Ministry of Defense,” said an anonymous interlocutor close to the PMC administration.

Recall that on August 23, a plane belonging to Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Russian PMC, crashed in the Tver region of the Russian Federation. There were 10 people on board, all dead.

The President of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, has already reacted to the incident. He expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims and described Yevgeny Prigozhin as “a man with a difficult fate.”
