Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin did not ask him for security guarantees.

Lukashenka clarified that he had spoken to Prigozhin twice: during the mutiny and at one of the recent meetings. Moreover, according to the Belarusian president, there was no talk of ensuring the security of the PMC leader on the territory of another state in any of these dialogues.

“To answer this question directly: I don’t have to ensure Prigozhin’s safety. Firstly, this is. Secondly, the conversation has never gone in such a vein”– the BelTA agency quotes him as saying.

Earlier, Lukashenko spoke about what would happen next with the “Wagnerites” in Belarus after the crash of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s plane in the Tver region. According to the Belarusian leader, the PMC fighters will remain in the country and will continue to work in the previously agreed manner.

Recall that on August 23, the business jet Embraer ERJ-135BJ Legacy 600, flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg, crashed at 17:54 near the village of Kuzhenkino near Tver. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there were 10 people on board – seven passengers and three crew members. They all died.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article “Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport.” Later, the Federal Air Transport Agency published a list of passengers who were on board the crashed ship. According to these data, Yevgeny Prigozhin was among them.
