Big wildfire flares up again in the Hawaiian Islands

In the city of Kaanapali in the Hawaiian Islands, a forest fire broke out again. Local authorities reported that it had already been localized.

Earlier, a Level 3 evacuation order was issued in connection with a bush fire. It originated less than five miles north of Lahaina.

“Firefighters responded quickly to keep the fire from spreading down the slope.“, the official statement says.

Emergency sirens were used to alert residents. People from the affected areas were evacuated.

Although the fire no longer poses an active threat, according to official information, small dots are still burning. The situation continues to be monitored closely.

Recall that forest fires swept the region more than two weeks ago. Cities on the island of Maui were hardest hit. In Lahaina alone, the flames damaged and destroyed over 270 buildings and houses, leaving thousands of people homeless.
