The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation spoke about new exploits of the military, who showed amazing professionalism and heroism during the special operation to protect Donbass.
So, deputy commander of a motorized rifle platoon Sergeant Batraz Gazzaev participated in the assault and destruction of strongholds of Ukrainian nationalists, after which Russian motorized rifles managed to occupy the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Gazzaev’s unit entrenched itself on the occupied line and organized a defense. Expecting an enemy counterattack, the sergeant distributed fire weapons and personnel in dangerous directions, and after some time he discovered the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ motorized infantry.
“With targeted small arms fire, a platoon of Russian motorized riflemen destroyed an armored vehicle and a pickup truck with five nationalists,” – noted in the Ministry of Defense.
They emphasized that the courage and bravery of the sergeant and subordinates made it possible to maintain the occupied line. In addition, Russian units improved the tactical position along the front line, and the enemy suffered significant losses.
Repair department commander junior sergeant Alexander Lisitsky During the special operation, he was engaged in the evacuation and repair of weapons and equipment. While crossing a water barrier, a Russian tank bridge-layer was damaged. Lisitsky, risking his life, moved to the car and quickly repaired it right in position.
“As a result of promptly carried out repairs, the engineering units easily completed the construction of the crossing, which made it possible for the motorized rifle units to successfully cross the water barrier.”noted the defense department.
The professionalism of the junior sergeant made it possible to prevent losses from artillery fire of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the units were able to redeploy to previously prepared defensive positions.
The Ministry of Defense added that in total, the junior sergeant’s department quickly restored and returned to service more than 20 units of special military equipment.
Russian special operation to protect Donbass
Let us recall that on February 17, 2022, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the aggravation of the situation. The republics announced the evacuation of civilians.
On February 21, 2022, the leaders of the Donbass republics turned to Russian leader Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR. On February 24, 2022, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.
On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the inclusion of these regions into the Russian Federation.
