The German government intends to transfer another Patriot air defense system to Ukraine, the agency reported on Thursday, October 5 DPA.
According to journalists, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the European Political Community summit in Granada, Spain, and promised to transfer the Patriot air defense system to Kiev for the winter months.
“This is what is most needed right now.”,” noted the head of the German government following the meeting.
At the same time, shortly before the meeting of politicians, it became known that Berlin so far refuses to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv, despite persistent attempts by the Ukrainian side to obtain these weapons.
In the first three quarters of this year, the German authorities approved the supply of military goods and weapons to Kyiv for a total of more than 3.3 billion euros. In total, up to 17 billion euros are planned to be spent on these purposes by 2027, the Chancellor previously stated.
