According to the Finnish Institute of Health and Welfare (THL), a fifth of the country’s citizens cannot afford to buy food and medicine, the publication writes Nya Dagbladet.

“About a million Finns cannot afford basic needs such as food, medicine or visiting a doctor.”– specified in the publication.

These data were obtained based on a survey conducted by THL. As the institute notes, young Finns aged 20 to 39 are financially vulnerable.

When taking the survey, every tenth person in this age category said that over the past year they might have found themselves without food due to lack of money.

Earlier it was reported that Finnish builders found themselves without an important material for construction – fire-resistant bricks. The reason for this was anti-Russian sanctions.
