After the joke of Russian jokers: Meloni’s assistant resigned

According to the Italian prime minister, Ambassador Francesco Talo claimed responsibility for his conversation with a Russian comedian posing as an African politician.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s diplomatic adviser has resigned after the Italian head of government discussed international “fatigue” over the war in Ukraine with a Russian comedian. Sky News writes about this on October 3.

The resignation of his advisor George Meloni commented, “This issue was not resolved properly, we are all very sorry, Ambassador (Francesco) Talo took responsibility for it.”

Journalists report that in September this year, a Russian comedian managed to talk to Meloni on the phone, posing as a high-ranking African Union official.

During the meeting, the Italian Prime Minister stated that the international community was tired of the war in Ukraine. Additionally, Meloni noted that Rome receives little support from other EU countries in the fight against migration.

Meloni’s deception: what is known

Let us recall that on November 1, Russian prankster Vovan and Lexus published a recording of a phone conversation, presumably with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during which he mentioned the “fatigue” caused by the war in Ukraine.

The Russian joker, playing the role of “African politician”, said that Ukraine’s counterattack also failed. In response, Meloni said that the counterattack “did not go as they expected” and “did not decide the fate of the conflict.”

Giorgia Meloni, who previously met with US President Joe Biden at the White House on July 28, stated that she supported Ukraine because it defends international law. According to him, Ukraine’s first supporters should be those living in peace.
