Georgian counterintelligence reported that two foreigners who were found in the capital with homemade explosives and an ISIS flag were detained. This was reported by the Novosti-Georgia publication.
The Counter-Terrorism Center of the State Security Service of Georgia stated that the detention occurred during an investigation into an incident related to the transportation of illegal immigrants.
The operation was carried out simultaneously at two points in Tbilisi. During the searches, it was determined that those detained had explosives and improvised explosive devices, stun guns, fake passports and an ISIS flag.
The nationality of those detained has not yet been disclosed.
Recall that on October 16, a man shot two people who might have been football fans in the center of Brussels. He later released a video message in which he revealed that he was affiliated with ISIS, calling the killings “revenge of Muslims.”
Previously, a man was detained in the Cherkasy region for shooting and wounding a police officer. Law enforcement officers seized a firearm, ammunition and a grenade from the person.
