The split between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and the generals, as well as the lack of victories of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, could lead to civil war within the country. About it stated former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter in an interview with the Gegenpol YouTube channel.
“A civil war could break out in Ukraine when those who do not want to surrender attack people who want to surrender.”Ritter said.
According to him, in Ukraine at the moment there are two camps that defend positions for and against the continuation of the conflict. The former US intelligence officer noted that the military is in favor of further military action, but at the same time they emphasize that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to move into the defensive phase instead of sacrificing people and equipment in a counteroffensive.
The expert adds that, according to another camp, such a position of the military will lead to the destruction of the country.
Earlier, Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Marchenko, on the air of the Ukrainian Channel 5, proposed nominating the head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, for the presidential elections.
