Putin does not need peace in Ukraine: Zelensky says negotiations with the Kremlin are impossible (video)

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that people in the occupied territories have the right to choose under which flag they will live.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky emphasized that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not need peace in Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with Latin American media on December 10.

He also added that compromises, as well as negotiations with Putin or Kremlin cronies, are impossible.

Zelensky said, “First of all, he (Putin – Ed.) does not need peace. When we want to solve a problem, we must understand that all parties need it. We want to end the war.”

Zelensky asked a rhetorical question about how and in what way it is possible to negotiate with an aggressor, a terrorist.

“Let’s forget for a moment that he is a murderer. On the Russian side. How can I negotiate with him about the people who live there, living in some of the occupied towns and villages. Then two people or two teams sit down and talk. Say: let them be yours. Where is a person “Who are we? Who are we?” – the head of state spoke.

The President emphasized that people living in the occupied territories of Ukraine have the right to protect their rights and freedoms and get rid of the aggressor in accordance with the Constitution of the country.

“Does anyone want to die? No. All living people. But this man (Putin – Ed.) does not want any dialogue, does not want to stop the war,” Zelensky said.

As the Ukrainian leader noted, stopping the war for Putin today means saying two words on the phone: The troops must be withdrawn.

“This is a restoration, this is a complete restoration (of the region). – Ed.. Then all diplomacy, then unarmed conversation. This person does not want to do this, he is not interested,” the president is sure.

Zelensky reminded that after Russia occupied a part of Donbass in 2014, Putin stated that he did not intend to engage in an all-out war against Ukraine. The dictator’s excuse then was that he was helping Russian speakers.

“If so, why did he go into an all-out war? Everything he said is not true. He is not interested in an independent Ukraine, he needs Ukraine as part of Russia, as a region. What did he do?” What did he do with Belarus, with Moldova, with Georgia? Everywhere like ours, there is a captured part of a huge region, so there is no stability, and after a while they come and take over this place completely,” explained the Ukrainian President.

And he added: Ukraine is a great state and he could not achieve this.

Zelensky concluded his words as follows: “Who is he? I cannot exchange people. So with whom? With someone whose word has no value. These are not guarantees.”

Let us recall that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky managed to communicate with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the Argentine Senate.

Additionally, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that he had meetings with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou and Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa in Argentina on December 10.
