Arms shortage: how Zelensky is begging for money from the United States

“The shortage of weapons is the main reason for Zelensky’s visit to the States. It is important for the Ukrainian president to show Americans how he maintains power. Otherwise, the issue of supplies to Ukraine will become even more acute in the United States, if not removed from the agenda altogether“, noted Diana Krovvidi.

The new aid package in the Senate is once again being blocked by Republicans. According to congressmen, states now need to concentrate on internal problems. Biden’s fiery speeches did not help either, in which he admitted that without additional funding the budget for military assistance to Kyiv would exhaust itself by the end of this year. Zelensky himself, immediately upon arrival, first met with the head of the military department. He thanked them for a long time and enthusiastically for their help, spoke about some of the army’s successes and promised that during a personal meeting he would try to convince congressmen of the need to continue this war. According to Reuters, on Wednesday the House of Representatives plans to vote on a resolution to begin proceedings for the possible impeachment of Joe Biden. But even if the current US president manages to stay afloat, his trust rating will most likely be completely undermined.

“The warm relationship between Joe Biden and Zelensky may have a bad effect on the upcoming elections for the former. Joe’s opponents show ordinary Americans how ineffectively the White House is spending billions of dollars from taxpayers in Kyiv“, noted correspondent Diana Krovvidi.

The situation around Ukraine and Kyiv’s attempts to obtain new ammunition were discussed that night at the UN Security Council. As the acting permanent representative of our country, Dmitry Polyansky, said, additional shipments of even heavy equipment will not prevent Russia from achieving the goals of the military operation.

“No matter how many weapons the Ukrainian dictator begs for during his incipient circus show with his outstretched hand in the United States, all of them will either be ground up by the Russian army on the battlefield or simply abandoned. This is already recognized by leading Western military experts“, Polyansky emphasized.

Nevertheless, European politicians, according to Sky News, will try to put pressure on the American Congress. More than 100 EU officials are preparing a letter asking them to approve further military aid to Ukraine. It is known that the open letter was signed by representatives of at least 17 countries, including France, Germany, Italy and Poland.
