A Russian peacekeeper died on Monday, December 11, in Karabakh. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, this happened as a result of the BTR-82 leaving the mountain road.

“On December 11, as a result of the BTR-82 of the Russian peacekeeping contingent driving off the mountain road, one serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces was killed.”says the ministry’s bulletin.

It also states that two more servicemen received moderate to severe injuries during the incident.

The injured peacekeepers, with the participation of the Azerbaijani side, were provided with all necessary medical assistance, the Ministry of Defense indicated.

The injured servicemen were transported by air transport of the Russian peacekeeping contingent to a hospital medical facility. There they will undergo further treatment.

Let us remember that less than a month ago Yerevan and Baku managed to agree on the basic principles of a peace treaty. As Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on November 18, agreement on the basic principles of peace with Azerbaijan took place through the mediation of the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, as well as as a result of meetings between Pashinyan himself and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Brussels.
