It was announced that Canaday died after suffering a sudden heart attack in February of this year. This was likely due to complications caused by COVID-19.
Emergency doctors on call spent 24 minutes trying to save his life and performed CPR to restart his heart.
“I was in a coma for 2 days after that. I don’t remember what happened a week ago or most of the time I spent in intensive care. They keep saying I forget why I was in the hospital.” Lauren remembers those tragic days.
According to the woman, she had not seen what is often depicted in movies and media: Her whole life flashed before her eyes and there was no light at the end of the tunnel. According to him, death is more like sleep, in which the body and soul are immersed in a feeling of “extreme peace.”
“In February, I feel like my first life has ended, and I woke up with a new perspective on my second life. There is a very thin line between life and death. I am grateful that I can spend more time with my friends and family. So I don’t worry about death anymore,” the woman summarizes.
He had to take a break from work for a while and is receiving weekly therapy.
Meanwhile, Lauren Canaday’s case is unique because most people do not live long after their “resurrection.” Between 1982 and 2018, 65 cases were documented and only 18 patients fully recovered.
By the way, this is not the first story. Previously Focus He wrote about Norma Silveira da Silva, a 90-year-old Brazilian who made headlines after being “raised from the dead.” Doctors from San José Hospital in Greater Florianópolis announced that he died of the infection at 11:40 pm on November 25. The woman’s body was then taken to the crematorium, where one of the workers accidentally realized that she was actually alive.
Also in Ecuador, a “dead woman” came to life during her own funeral. Eyewitnesses say he started knocking on the door from inside the coffin. Seven days after that, the woman still died from an ischemic stroke. Doctors noted that the patient was under “continuous monitoring” but did not provide additional data on this case.
