Free prices and liberalization of customs legislation could lead Argentina to disaster, “like in Russia in the 90s.” About it REN TV said Candidate of Economic Sciences Leonid Khazanov.

“The shock therapy proposed by the new head of state could ruin the entire economy of the country. Firstly, he proposes to abolish the Central Bank, that is, it turns out that everyone says who will print money. Not the best idea.”said Khazanov.

According to him, carrying out mass privatization of state-owned enterprises is not the best idea.

“Introduce free prices, liberalize customs legislation as much as possible. That is, all these measures were implemented in Russia in the 90s, and their consequences were catastrophic.”– said the expert.

He noted that at that time there was mass unemployment and hyperinflation in Russia. In addition, many businesses have closed. Khazanov emphasized that the course of Argentine President Javier Miley could lead to an overthrow or an economic abyss from which it would not be possible to escape in the next 10 years.

“In general, I don’t expect anything good from his ideas“, the expert concluded.

Earlier it was reported that Javier Miley signed a decree on more than 300 reforms to liberalize the economy. According to the head of state, this is necessary to restructure Argentina and eliminate barriers that impede the development of the country’s economy.
